All I can figure is that since this new screen is indicated as compatible with Surface Book 1 and 2, the physical connection is the same, but the screen is newer and incompatible with the original Surface Book somehow. I replaced my Surface Book touch screen with one from iFixit, and the touch function did not work after connecting everything (including the digitizer board, which I got from the old screen.) After getting a second new screen and replacing the ribbon cables and digitizer boards with new ones, it still does not work.
